Эти строки были давно написаны, когда автор настоящей книги прочел в "Нью Йорк Херальд Трибюн" (20 января 1953 г.) статью американского государственного деятеля (Edward W. Barrett, former Assistant Secretary of State, Plea to give Dulles a Chance). В ней вскользь сообщается: "We have seen Mr. Dean Acheson so busy fending of missiles (some square hits, but most of them foul balls) that he often could give only part time to the problems that are the real threat to the country".
